Maccarini Court
and its history
1.
Where the history of the house meets that of its inhabitants .
Corte Maccarini has its roots in the 15th century , when the farmhouse, which includes the apartments, arose amidst the fields and hills of the Belluno Valley. It is a typical rural settlement, with several residential units and a stable arranged around a shared courtyard.
Past and present intersect in the corners of the house: a small bull's head above the stable, an ancient wood-burning oven inside the house, the load-bearing walls made of local stone are traces of a life made of land and seasons.
2.
Today, after a careful renovation that has preserved the soul of the place, the courtyard welcomes those seeking an authentic retreat, away from the crowded streets yet convenient for exploring the area. The spaces have been carefully designed to welcome guests, combining the charm of the past with the comforts of the present .
Staying here means entering a place that has history, but which has managed to become welcoming and contemporary .
3.
A journey through time: discovering the 3 accommodations
There's a thin thread, made of wood, water, and earth, that connects Corte Maccarini to its three apartments: Venezia, Zumelle, and Dolomiti. It's a thread that began in the 16th century and bears the name of Zuanne Maccarini , a man of travel and roots. Zuanne wasn't just a timber merchant, but an entrepreneur of his time . Documents show him working between Venice and the Ledro Valley, in the province of Trento, where he organized the transport of timber destined for Venice via the Piave River (once navigated by the Zattieri and now used by Rafting Dolomiti ).
4.
During one of these trips , he stopped in Mel , where he acquired lands, fields, and buildings, becoming a stable and enduring presence. Corte Maccarini was animated by agricultural life and the daily toil of the farmers, organized around the large courtyard, the beating heart of the property. Next to it was a smaller courtyard, now restored and transformed into the Venezia apartment, an apartment that invites you to slow down and spend time together.
5.
The Dolomiti apartment , in the attic, is perhaps the one that most closely interacts with Zuanne's story.
The exposed antique wood ceilings recall the woods and trade of days gone by. It's a warm and welcoming space where guests can spend time with the same simplicity and conviviality that once animated court life.
Zumelle, on the other hand, is a little gem: a cozy studio apartment, meticulously designed down to the last detail, where simplicity and elegance meet. Designed for those seeking a simple yet special stay.

Nice, large patio, clean location, good air conditioning. The owner/landlord is very helpful, with flexible arrival and departure times. Beautiful bike rides are available from the apartment.
Jo
We loved Corte Maccarini; it was perfect for our family of four. The beds were super comfortable, and the amenities were excellent. Parking was right next to the house, and there was plenty of room for our hyperactive toddler! Alessandra was kind and helpful when we had any questions.
Fanny
We had a wonderful stay. The accommodation was exactly as described, very clean and well-equipped (air conditioning, mosquito nets, etc.). Alessandra was very responsive to our requests.
Pia
Beautiful house in a fantastic setting. Very clean, tidy, and new. The kitchen is well-equipped and every room has air conditioning. It's a cozy private farmhouse. We called the host and were allowed to check in early at 4: lovely! The host was also flexible with checkout. We highly recommend the house; it's truly charming.
Katharina
The host responded immediately and without complications even in case of problems.
Connor
Great place with a beautiful courtyard, perfect for our daily visits to Lentiai, just down the road. The host was even able to accommodate a few extra guests staying at the last minute, which was nice. The only downside was that we had to make our beds at the beginning and some basic kitchen utensils were missing, but that's minor, so 5 stars!
